Tell us a little about yourself, when did art become part of your life?
I have always been creative, since I was a little child. I have so many illustrations over the years and it’s fun to see my style evolve and mature. Now I am working as a full time artist in Berlin.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from many different things. Sometimes it can be a song, a smell, a conversation or also a dream I have had. I journal a lot and a lot of times the things I write about and the thoughts that affect me personally become the spark for an artwork. My pieces mostly show women. Through my art I want to increase the visibility of women in art. But not women as sexual objects, but rather women as confident individuals. I portray women, who are bold, fun and not afraid to show themselves and take up space. My characters are frequently displayed with little to no clothing, yet not from a sexual point of view. It is about reclaiming the female body and desexualizing it.

What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence to me means to be unapologetically yourself. That is something I find very hard myself. My art is a form of therapy that allows me to get closer and closer to my authentic self. In our society we tend to compare, compete and be quite harsh and mean to ourselves. We don’t want to be weird, we want to fit in. But isn’t there so much beauty in the weirdness? I want to learn to embrace all of that and make my inner child proud. My art is a reminder to me and to others to do the same.
What are 3 words that you live by?
Freedom, creativity and passion
Favourite VIVEH piece?
The brown pants I am wearing in the pics. So comfortable and light, yet so elegant! It can be dressed casually but also dressed so elegantly. Very versatile piece for many occasions. Love it!
